Torrevieja to Campoamor
South Torrevieja has a narrow strip of beach behind the blocks of flats. There you can find beach bars and restaurants one alongside each other. English, Belgian, Spanish and German owners. Make your choice and try them out. All the beaches to the south have the same amenities: Rocio del Mar, Punta Prima, La Zenia and Cabo Roig.
In Rocio del Mar on the N332 you can find a good ice cream parlour run by Germans with the Italian name "Gelateria" - with very good ice cream and good service. On the N332 between Punta Prinla and La Zenia lies a big Go-kart track - also one for children.
Commercial centre Villamartin Golf (on the roundabout "La Zenia" to the right when you're coming from Torrevieja) - Lots of restaurants and bars, a lot of them run by British staff. In the summertime it is crowded but fun.
From Dehesa Campamor to Mar Menor
Dehesa de Campoamor is a lot quieter but is one of the nicer beaches. The beach (with two beach bars sometimes open until late at night), the green of palm trees and the harbour invite you to have a nice walk, especially in the evening. There is also a horse farm with restaurant where you can rent a horse for some riding.
The beach of "Dhesa de Campamor" is easily accessible at +/-3.7 Km. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available (for hire). You are able to jet ski and use water-bikes. If you become thirsty or hungry you can use the two beach bars.
During holiday season: lifeguards & First-aid available. The beach slopes very gently
Tip The pleasure craft harbour is situated on the right of the beach and little bit further lies another beach not very known to tourists and therefore very quiet.
Mil Palmeras
Cosy little beach town. Plenty of small restaurants and bars and a market every night during Summer. It looks all a bit older but you can have a very nice time there.
Mar Menor (inland sea) goes from Lo Pagan to La Manga.
This is a typical Spanish coastline and is also very cosy. It is frequented by Spanish holidaymakers. Very busy during summer but it has everything to offer. Practically no foreign tourist go there so its is a totally different atmosphere than on the other beaches and in the beach towns.
La Manga is the more mundane and expensive area on the Costa Blanca. Merits a visit certainly if you are a golfer: La Manga Golf resort. Sunday market in Cabo de Pallos.
From Cartagena towards Almeria
This is the region to relax. Small inlets with small beaches. some typical restaurants and cosy terraces. Lots of unspoiled nature especially inland, really the old Spain. Worthwhile to spend a daytrip: Mazaron, Aguilas, San Juan de los Terreros.
Tip Beware! This unspoiled coastline will not last forever. Real estate is moving South.
